Penang Hill, Pemandangan Tingkat Tinggi

HIJAU dimana-mana, warna favorit gue. Sejuk banget.

I don’t see any better way to spend the last day of the year than being on top of a hill, highest point of the island, soaking the view. That’s why I am here. They call it Penang Hill or Bukit Bendera and it’s situated around 800 meters above sea level, just the way I like it. To get up here, I took a breezy and safe 10 minutes train (or is it a tram?) ride. I heard from the locals that the train station in Penang Hill is the oldest in Malaysia, built in 1788. The train and the technology used however are all new, for safety reason of course. As foreigners, we were charged RM30 per person to get up here.

A simple chaos happened earlier while waiting for the train cause the security guard suddenly asked us NOT to queue! We were standing in a line nicely and she came and said… “Fight for a better place in the train! No queue!” Everyone started to push forwards and we were all annoyed. Arrggg.

Anyway, di atas sini ada hotel, resto, museum, Mesjid, kuil, daaaann tempat gembok cinta! AW!

Anyway, up here, besides all the greens and fresh air, there are some restaurants, a hotel, a Mosque, a Temple, an owl Museum, some other things, and a lovelock area! YES Sir, Penang adaptation of lovelocks culture around the world is here. I heard the lovelock area here in Penang Hill was launched on the eve on Valentine’s Day this year (2014). Me and my hubby bought a padlock for RM15 sold there, wrote our names and date, and secure it somewhere on the fence, just like we did once in Pont Des Arts Paris. Aw, so romantic. Sealed with a kiss too.

Height is addictive for me. If I can choose, I would just stay up here for days and stare at the clouds, the trees, and the scenic view of Penang while receiving new revelations of life. Ah, this is the last day of 2014. I thank God for 2014. It’s been wonderful and full of blessings. I am ready now for what’s ahead. Bring it on.

Naik ke Penang Hill was indeed the perfect choice for the last day of 2014. Cerita gue sampai disini ya guys. K
