The Pandawa & Green Bowl Beach BALI

2 Maret waktunya traveling lagi…ke Bali, pulau favorit sluruh bangsa Indonesia.  Judul jalan-jalan kali ini ‘kerja kabur’ (hanya orang-orang tertentu yang bakal ngerti kenapa judulnya ‘kerja kabur’ hehehe). Trakhir ke Bali setengah taun lalu, murni untuk kerja doang jadi nggak sempet kemana-mana. So kali ini harus kemana-mana! Dan karena udah bosen ke tempat yang itu lagi itu lagi, gue harus ke tempat yang belom pernah gue datengin di Bali. Banyak Pe-er!

Tujuan jalan-jalan pertama ialah ke Pantai Pandawa, di Desa Kutuh, daerah selatan Bali. Banyak yang bilang ini pantai yang masi sepi. Gampang kok nyarinya. Dari arah GWK lurus aja trus belok kiri kearah Nusa Dua, dari situ banyak papan yang nunjukin arah ke Pantai Pandawa.

// First destination was a beach at Kutuh Village, a small village in southern part of Bali. My brother in law went there 2 months ago, and some friends also. They told me that it’s quite a good beach. It is called “Pandawa Beach”

Second day of March 2013, time to travel again. I flew to the old time fave island, Bali. I determined to only visit places I never been to in Bali before. So no more Kuta, Ubud or Seminyak or Uluwatu this time! I have to admit, my knowledge of Bali is very very limited. I have to learn more this time.//

 

 

Begitu sampai di Pantai Pandawa, pasti kesan pertama langsung kagum. Bukit kapur dan tebing kokoh terlihat seperti gerbang besar yang menyambut kedatangan tamunya. Di sebelah kiri ada patung raksasa 5 Pandawa yang menatap kearah laut. Keren banget. Hanya Rp. 5000 untuk mobil dan seribu perak aja per orang untuk ongkos masuk, kita sudah bisa menikmati cantiknya Pantai Pandawa.

Lautnya biru bersih, pasirnya putih dan suasananya masih belum ramai. Cuma lucunya, ada pemandangan unik disana. Disebelah kiri ada turis-turis berbikini yang lagi berjemur santai sambil minum kelapa muda dipinggir pantai; sementara disebelah kanan ada beberapa gubuk kumuh berisi ibu-ibu tua yang lagi ngejemur rumput laut. Asli, kontras banget.

// Pandawa Beach boasts a different panorama from the rest. At the entrance, I found huge statues of ‘Panca Pandawa’ – (5 prince characters in Hindu literature) installed inside the carved cliff walls, overlooking the Indian Ocean. It’s so stunning. Paid only less than a dollar for both the car and the passengers, I caught sight of this white sand beach, clear water, with serene atmosphere. Such a beautiful beach. There’s another thing tho. The area is famous for its seaweed cultivation, so I discovered a contrast view of some excited tourists relaxing under their deckchairs & umbrellas by the beach on my left hand side; and on my right side there were these sad looking locals with their almost collapsed houses made out of bamboos with dried seaweed on their front yard. Hm…..one might ponder? What a contradicting sense of beauty.//

 

 

 

Sepuluh menit dari Pantai Pandawa ada sebuah pantai bernama “Green Bowl Beach”, persis dibelakang “Bali Cliff” Resort. Waktu sampai disana, asli sepi banget. Cuma ada dua toko yang menjual makanan kecil, beberapa ibu yang habis ngumpulin rumput, satu orang bule lagi bengong dan beberapa pecalang yang minum kopi sambil menggosip. Nggak ada turis. Kenapa ya? Belakangan baru ketahuan ‘jawaban’nya. Ternyata untuk ke pantai, cuma ada satu akses yaitu nurunin 325 anak tangga.

Turunnya sih gampang. Naiknya itu loh kayak kerja paksa rasanya.

Dan ternyata, siang itu lagi pasang airnya. Jadi cuma bisa liat-liat pantainya doang, gak bisa duduk santai disitu. Ombaknya lumayan besar soalnya. Tapi kebayang sih kalau lagi surut pasti enak banget nyantai disitu. Warna airnya bagus dan masih alami banget tempatnya. Waktu naik turun tangga aja ketemu monyet-monyet liar. Disini juga belom ada toilet.

// From Pandawa, we drove around 10 minutes to another beach called “Green Bowl Beach”. It’s situated behind ‘Bali Cliff’ resort. The beach was practically empty when we were there. Why? Is it because:

1. the tide was in?, or
2. it’s not a famous beach? or
3. no facility in the area? –NO RESTROOM!- or
4. to get to the beach, I had to climb down 325 stairs (yes I counted).

The answer is

All of the above are correct! 😀

It was quite an exercise to climb down and then UP again on this beach!! We found some wild monkeys on the way and the color of the water looked really attractive. I bet it’s a nice secluded beach to enjoy when the tide is out.

From there, we continued to hunt some other interesting spots at southern Bali.//

Yasudahlah, mungkin lain kali aja kesini lagi yaaa. Masih ada beberapa tempat lagi di selatan Bali yang harus dikejar.
