Gak sah kalau sudah ada di Roma-Vatican City<\/a> tapi nggak mampir ke tempat yang satu ini. Namanya ialah Sistine Chapel. Terkenal gara-gara di dalamnya ada lukisan tentang penciptaan manusia berjudul \u201cThe Creation of Adam\u201d, maha karya dari Michelangelo. Terkenal juga karena di dalam Sistine Chapel ini-lah drama pemilihan Paus Gereja Katholik selalu dilakukan sejak tahun 1492. Buset, penting nih.<\/span><\/p>\n

\/\/ I was in Vatican City!, so I thought I might as well (or I should) go to the famous Sistine Chapel where they have “the Creation of Adam” painting by Michelangelo. Sistine Chapel is also THE place where Pope is selected, with the chimney and all, since 1492. wow.\/\/<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Gue jalan kurang lebih 15 menitan dari beranda Vatican City, St Peter’s Square, kearah Sistine Chapel. Bayangan gue, begitu sampai nanti langsung ketemu sebuah gereja yang didepannya berjudul \u201cSistine Chapel\u201d, abis itu gue bayar untuk masuk, liat-liat bentar, foto-foto dengan si lukisan tekenal itu sambil senyum-senyum atau pose lain, lalu pulang. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ternyata kenyataannya agak lain. Lain banget malah.<\/span><\/p>\n

\/\/ At first I thought that Sistine Chapel is just a single chapel, standing by its own like any other chapel. But when I walked around 15 mins from St Peter’s Square to the Chapel, I found a museum called Vatican Museum and apparently the chapel is located inside the museum. Oh I see.\/\/<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Di sebelah kiri jalan, gue menemukan kerumunan manusia yang menandakan gue sudah sampai di tempat tujuan. Tapi nggak ada Gereja disitu. Adanya ialah sebuah bangunan Museum yang sangat besar bernama \u201cVatican Museum\u201d. Katanya sih si Chapel itu terletak didalam Museum ini. Baiklah. Gue masuk ke dalam, dan berputar-putar mencari loket. Agak membingungkan, karena loket-loket didalam ada tandanya semua, kayak \u2018loket khusus tur\u2019, \u2018loket untuk grup\u2019 dan lain-lain. Lah, loket untuk beli tiket biasa dimana ya?<\/span><\/p>\n

Dengan membayar harga Rp.215.000 per orang, gue dinyatakan berhak keliling Museum sepuasnya oleh mbak-mbak penjaga loket yang akhirnya gue temukan. Tips<\/span>\u00a0berkunjung ke Sistine Chapel yang pertama dari gue, jeli-jelilah mencari letak loket supaya nggak ngabisin waktu kelamaan di beranda depan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Okey, setelah pegang tiket, niat gue ialah langsung aja deh ke Sistine Chapel-nya. Banyak tanda panah yang mengarahkan pengunjung ke lokasi Chapel yang mulai gue ikuti satu-persatu. Gue mulai masuk dari satu ruangan ke ruangan lain, dan gue sadar ini bukan museum yang biasa aja. Bisa dibilang sering banget gue \u2018nganga\u2019 karena karya-karya seni yang ada sangat banyak, bertaburan disana-sini, dan keren-keren banget. <\/span><\/p>\n

Di tembok, lantai, atap, jendela, kanan kiri, depan, belakang, sepanjang koridor penuh dengan karya seni yang menakjubkan dari seluruh dunia. Kalau gue anak kuliah seni, mungkin gue bisa gelar tenda dan nginep disini saking takjubnya. Gue yakin deh, total karya seni disini bisa puluhan ribu jumlahnya. BUANYAK. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ini museum keren banget. Asli. <\/span><\/p>\n

Tips\u00a0berkunjung ke Sistine Chapel yang kedua dari gue, cari tau dari online ada karya apa aja di Museum ini sehingga minimal kita bisa tau sejarah atau latar belakang dari karya-karya yang ada. Itu pasti bikin kunjungan kesini lebih exciting<\/em> lagi.<\/span><\/p>\n

\/\/ I considered my self very very lucky because there was NO queue at all when I got here. I heard in high season, people queue for 1 to 3 hours just to get inside (imagine standing outside in summertime!!). I bought the ticket for Euro 16 (per person) and started the tour. After just a few steps inside I knew that I had never seen anything like this museum. The art collection was unbelievable. For the first hour there, I almost forgot that I came here only for the Chapel. The building itself is impressive and the art is crazzyy!! The doors, the ceilings, the corridors, the floors, the walls, are all full with awesome paintings, art, and sculptures. If I were an art student, I’d built my self a camp and live there or something. HA! \/\/<\/span>

Setelah satu jam jalan sambil nganga itu tadi, masuk ke ruangan-ruangan yang ada, naik turun tangga, belok kanan kiri, gue baru nyadar kok Sistine Chapel-nya nggak sampe-sampe ya? <\/span><\/p>\n

Tiap kali masuk ruangan baru, gue mulai nebak, \u201cini kali ya Chapel\u201d-nya\u2026eh tapi salah lagi.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ternyata memang Sistine Chapel terletak paling belakang, macam \u2018save the best for last<\/em>\u2019-lah. Begitu mendekati, terlihat kalau ruangan yang nggak terlalu besar ini-lah yang paling penuh sesak dengan wisatawan. Ada tanda besar \u201cJangan berisik\u201d dan \u201cDilarang MEMOTRET\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

Begitu melangkah masuk, terdengar lagu-lagu rohani berbahasa latin (ala Gregorian) dikumandangkan dengan sayup-sayup. Suasana Chapel sangat remang-remang karena cahaya hanya berasal dari sinar matahari yang bisa masuk dari jendela di sisi atas ruangan. Khusuk tapi mistis banget nih rasanya di dalam sini. Agak sedikit nggak bisa gue jelaskan bagaimana perasaan gue disitu…<\/span><\/p>\n

\/\/ Entering one room to another, turning right, turning left, going up and going down….I then started to wonder “Where’s the Sistine Chapel? Did we pass it already without realizing it?”…”Are we there yet?”.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Later I learnt that the Sistine Chapel was the finale of the tour. They saved the best for last cause it was located at the very back of the Museum (or maybe it was just arranged to appear like that). The Chapel was not too big (40m x 14m), lit only by natural light filtering in through the windows – lending an ancient and melancholy air, crowded with tourists craning their necks upwards to marvel at Michelangelo’s magnificent ceiling, and some Gregorian chant and music was heard vaguely inside. We’re finally here. Ah.\/\/<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Wisatawan yang berada didalam Sistine Chapel, semuanya sibuk ngeliat keatas. Yap, karena si lukisan terkenal itu tadi kan memang ada nya di atap. Lukisan utama, yaitu gambar manusia yang jarinya nyaris memegang jari penciptanya itu \u2018nyempil\u2019 di tengah karya megah keseluruhan yang ada di ada atap. Oooo ini toh bendanya. Bagus memang\u2026sangat sangat bagus. <\/span><\/p>\n

Tanda larangan memotret sepertinya agak sedikit diacuhkan oleh turis. Banyak banget yang nakal curi-curi memotret (termasuk gue! Hehehhe) walaupun ada banyak satpam bertubuh besar yang menjaga didalam dan sibuk menegur para turis nakal itu tadi. <\/span><\/p>\n

Anyway<\/em>, tips\u00a0berkunjung ke Sistine Chapel yang ketiga dari gue ialah\u00a0HATI-HATI COPET! karena semua pada ngeliat keatas dan lagi tekagum-kagum, nggak jarang orang kecopetan disini. Copet Italia terkenal lihai, jadi musti hati-hati banget.<\/span><\/p>\n

\/\/ I took my time admiring (in silence) the masterpiece in the Sistine Chapel: Michelangelo’s God Touching Adam. I even took some photos! It was actually prohibited to take photos inside the Chapel, but probably around 50% of the tourists inside couldn’t help to do it (or at least try to) – even there were lots of guards inside, ready to yell at the ‘naughty tourists’. The painting was as magnificent as advertised. Or maybe more. You just need to experience it yourself to believe me. \/\/<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Setelah beberapa lama di dalam Sistine Chapel yang memang bikin gue merinding, gue berangkat pulang, menuruni tangga Vatican Museum yang juga sangat terkenal di dunia. Ini tangga berusia lebih dari 80 tahun tapi sangat elegan dan merupakan salah satu tangga yang paling banyak difoto di dunia sepanjang sejarah. Gila, tangga-nya aja penting nih tempat, apalagi yang lain coba. <\/span><\/p>\n

Akhirnya mengerti kenapa Sistine Chapel dan Vatican Museum ini bisa menarik jutaan turis setiap tahunnya. There\u2019s nothing else like it, I think<\/i>. Nanti kalau ada Museum yang lebih keren dari ini, gue bilang deh. Sejauh ini sih, ini Museum paling luar biasa yang pernah gue datengin.<\/span><\/p>\n

\/\/ On my way out, I had to climb down the stairs of Vatican Museum. This item which was designed by Giuseppe Momo in 1932, is another famous part of this place. It is claimed as one of the most photographed and one of the most beautiful spiral staircases is in the world!! Yeahh!! So if you ever plan to go to Rome, this Museum is a MUST visit.\/\/<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Tips berkunjung ke Sistine Chapel ekstra dari gue, kalau kalian mau kesini:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

– Sediain waktu yang banyak biar PUAS. Kalau suka karya seni, seharian aja masih kurang cukup disini. Seriusan.<\/span><\/p>\n

– Kalau punya dirumah, bawa deh kekeran (teropong kecil) biar bisa lihat karya seni yang diatap lebih jelas detailnya.<\/span><\/p>\n

– Perhatikan jam buka dan hari buka. Jangan sampai datang pas mereka tutup. Tapi, ada juga hari dan jam khusus masuk GRATIS loh. Dan kalau bisa datang di low season, soalnya kalau lagi high season<\/em> katanya sih antrinya bisa lebih dari 3 jam untuk masuk ke dalam. Gue kemaren beruntung aja bisa pas lagi nggak terlalu rame.

\/\/ Just remember some things: Make time to enjoy the work of art because even all day is not enough, in my opinion. By all means purchase your ticket in advance, or do your homework to find the less crowded hour\/date\/season. And then, bring binoculars to see the details of the paintings on the ceilings – if you have one-. The last but not least is please beware of pickpockets! \/\/<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
