Hari terakhir di kota Roma<\/a>, gue pergi ke Piazza of the Knights of Malta. Ini tempat bener-bener seratus persen bikin penasaran, dan sebenarnya gue sangat nggak sabar untuk bisa sampai kesini. Satu-satunya tempat di dunia dimana kit<\/span>a bisa menikmati pemandangan dengan cara MENGINTIP! Yap, w<\/span>isata ngintip di Roma. Kayak apa ya?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\/\/ One of the last places I went to in Rome is Piazza of the Knights of Malta. I was saving the best for last actually. Been really eager to find out about this unique ‘peeking’ attraction in Rome. Since the first time I read about this place, my curiosity piqued.\/\/<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Intinya, yang bakal ditemuin di lokasi wisata ini adalah sebuah pintu. Bentuknya sih pintu kayu biasa, yang cukup lebar. Tapi begitu orang mengintip di lubang kuncinya, semua pasti bakal mengucapkan hal yang sama: \u201cWow\u201d\u2026.. Orang Roma menyebut tempat ini sebagai \u201cLubang Roma\u201d. Kan penasaran kannnn\u2026.gue juga!<\/span><\/p>\n

\/\/To describe the place a little bit, it is basically a door. A wooden door, but a very fascinating broad wooden door. No key is required tho. All you gotta do is to put an open eye to the keyhole, and focus. When you do, you’ll get a surprising eyeful: a beautiful sight. The Romans call it \u201chole of Rome\u201d.\/\/<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

\"Wisata<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Semangat banget loh gue menemukan lokasi pintu ini. Gue naik Metro yang jalur B (warna biru) menuju Circo Maximo, keluar ke exit, dan segera menggelar peta untuk mencari jalan yang tepat. Pengennya sih memang buru-buru. Tapi begitu ngelewatin \u201cCirco Maximo\u201d-nya, mau nggak mau gue berent dulu. Circo Maximo adalah arena perlombaan kereta kuda di jaman Romawi kuno dulu. Kalau pernah nonton film \u201cBen Hur\u201d dan tau sejarah, pasti ngeh kalo ini adalah tempat yang penting untuk diabadikan dengan kamera. Pembuatan film \u201cBen Hur\u201d sendiri juga dilakukan di Circo Maximo Roma ini. <\/span><\/p>\n

Sekarang tempat ini memang sudah tinggal puing-puing dan lapangan rumput, tapi nilai sejarahnya tetap sangat tinggi. Harus foto!! KLIK!!<\/span><\/p>\n

\/\/ I went there to see this Knights of Malta Keyhole to find the answer of what everyone is talking about! I made sure it was a nice clear day, and I took metro line B (the blue line) to Circo Maximo and took a half an hour walk from there. it could be faster, but I stopped for a while to take photos of the Circo Maximo, the very arena for chariot racing back in Roman empire long time ago, and of course the film set for \u201cBen Hur\u201d. Though it is now only a few small ruins and grassy banks, I saw clearly the outline of what was there once.\/\/<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Tidak jauh dari situ, gue belok kiri melewati taman mawar dan mulai jalan mendaki ke atas. Lokasi si pintu ini memang terletak di atas bukit Aventine; salah satu dari 7 bukit yang ada di kota Roma. Mendakinya lumayan lama sampai keringetan. Dimana nih pintu ya\u2026.. Dari jauh gue liat sekumpulan orang berdiri antri didepan sebuah rumah dengan pintu tua besar berwarna hijau. Wah, pasti ini nih!! Gak sabar nih!! Setelah mengantri menunggu giliran, mengintiplah gue.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\/\/ From there I turned left, passing a rose garden and walked up the Aventine hill. The walk was quite an exercise. I didn\u2019t really know which door I should come to, but I saw a bunch of tourists standing in front of an old greenish door on my right side. I believed that was it. Ah, curious curious curious\u2026. Please let it be my turn to peek at the hole. Please\u2026.\/\/<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Pelan-pelan, mata kiri gue letakkan di lubang kunci yang ada. Apa sihhh pemandangannya? Dan akhirnya, rasa penasaranpun terbayarkan. Dibalik lubang kunci tersebut, terpampang pemandangan super unik dan cantik dari kota Roma. Taman yang tertata rapih dengan atap gereja Vatican di ujungnya. Jujur ya, keren banget. Susah dijelasin dengan kata-kata yang lebih panjang. Pengennya sih berlama-lama ngintip, tapi di belakang gue udah ada antrian orang lain yang juga pengen ngintip.<\/span><\/p>\n

\/\/ When it\u2019s finally my turn, I gently pressed my open left eye against the keyhole, and there it was. The stunning panorama beyond the door, a shapely tree-lined path and a framed picture-perfect sight of the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica at the end of the path. GORGEOUS. Seriously, for such a brief moment of gazing a view with the weirdest way possible, this is such a cool thing to do. The climb and the wait were totally worth it.\/\/<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Ini tempat terhitung minim turis. Semua orang sibuk ke tempat yang lebih ramai dan terkenal, sehingga agak jarang turis yang tau lokasi ini. Kadang-kadang orang lokal aja masih suka kemari untuk mengintip bareng pacarnya. Denger-denger pemandangan ngintip di malam hari lebih keren dari siang. Gue sempat liat waktu siang aja sih. Itu aja udah keren banget menurut gue. Di sebelah pintu tersebut, ada taman penuh pohon jeruk yang juga indah. Pemandangan yang ditawarkan taman kecil bernama “Parco degli Aranci” ini tidak kalah bagusnya. Jadi kalau kecewa dengan lubang kunci, bisa jalan-jalan ke taman sebelah.<\/span><\/p>\n

\/\/ FYI, this place is rarely visited by the mass tourists. There are even locals who still go here time to time to impress their women, or just to have a peek of the beauty. So it\u2019s definitely recommended. Even if one is not satisfied with what is seen in the keyhole, there is a delightful small park called “Parco degli Aranci”, filled with orange trees, right next to it. From there, the view of the city is also charming. So, there is nothing to lose, right?\/\/<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Hampir semua turis yang bawa kamera akan mencoba untuk mengambil gambar dari lubang kunci itu. Susah sih karena kecil, musti fokus banget, sehingga rata-rata pada gagal. Gue salah satu yang beruntung berhasil mendapatkan fotonya. Tapi nggak akan gue pajang di sini. Biar kalian penasaran dan datang sendiri ke Roma dan mengintip. Yang ini dijamin nggak bikin bintitan. Haha! Pengalaman unik menikmati pemandangan di balik lubang kunci. Hanya di Roma. Selamat mengintip!<\/span><\/p>\n

\/\/ Like all tourists who bring their cameras to the scene, I also tried to photograph the view inside the keyhole. Many failed, but mine worked. The thing is, I wont share it with you. The vision is a memory I will have for a long time, and if you wanna know how it looks like, go there and peek for yourself. A truly nice gift from Rome: a keyhole in which anyone is able to look through without feeling guilty. Happy Peeking! \/\/<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Banyak yang bertanya-tanya rumah siapakah yang berpintu hijau ini? Dan apakah pintunya bisa dibuka? Jawabanya, ini adalah tempat milik para Ksatria Malta, sebuah kelompok persaudaraan tertutup Gereja Katolik Roma yang ada sejak adab pertengahan hingga sekarang. Di tahun 1765 mereka merancang tempat ini, lengkap dengan pintu dan lubang kuncinya. Pintunya kadang-kadang terbuka tapi sangat jarang.<\/span><\/p>\n

\/\/ Everyone is questioning whose house is it? and can the door be opened? Well, it is the palace of the Order of the Knights of Malta (one of the few Orders created in the Middle Ages and still active today), and they were the ones in 1765, who commissioned the famous architect and painter Giovan Battista Piranesi to build palace, as well as the impressive square itself with the keyhole as a part of the perfect design. And yes, the door is sometimes opened but very rarely. \/\/<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
